Biblical Healing

What is faith? How does healing come? Can we trust God, better question, is He faithful, is He true to His word? There's no question there but let’s put a quick answer to this, Yes, without a doubt,  He is. He is faithful & we can trust Him! But this doesn’t stop the enemy’s questions passing through our mind trying to cause doubt.

What is Childlike faith … it comes from a place of “love covers the multitude of sins” mentioned in 1Peter 4:8. Applying that concept to our life is a complete trust in God from a place of love we have toward God.

1Corinthians 12:9 mentions the “gift of healing” but verse 4 says it the “SAME Spirit” and verse 5 says it’s the “SAME Lord” and verse 6 says it’s the “SAME God which worketh all in all”. So what is it that brings the healing? A man? Someone God has revealed himself to who is a willing vessel to reach and build the faith of others by creating an atmosphere or by telling stories that calls to something deep inside and draws out the faith God has paced in you till it manifests itself in your life, it’s the Spirit of God that draws not the flesh body of those around us. On to more faith building understanding scriptures and thoughts.

Looking at the man who had friends,

Mark 2:3-5 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

Where was the faith? It was in the friends, at the point they done all they could do, they had to get him to Jesus, they believed there was hope in Jesus they had seen him make a difference in so many lives already. They got their friend in the atmosphere and presence of the Spirit, Lord and God mentioned in 1Corinthians12:9, Jesus!

Healing comes by getting in the presence of that same Spirit. It could be through a servant of God with a gift of healing, your friends or family that reaches out in prayer and creates the atmosphere Jesus had. What is the key question asked by a man of God in a prayer line, do you believe? Similar to Mark 9:23.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

James 5:15-16  and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Look closer at what we need to do to receive our healing. It isn’t about letting the faith of others bring us healing, it’s an individual faith. Look at these next verses,

Philippians 2:12  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Mark 9:23  Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

So what is faith? complete trust or confidence according to the dictionary.

Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Says to me He will do what he says. But we have to believe not our friends or family but the one who is seeking Him diligently and believes. This scripture points out the importance of how trails can be trying  and it would seem to point that people give up and take an easier way, some say “ I am a winner either way” truth if you make it to heaven by death you are still a winner and if you live to continue the work of the Lord you are also a winner and its appointed unto man to die (Hebrews 9:27). Luke 18:7-8

And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Don’t lose faith. Don’t entertain the question if God is faithful or true to His word, keep believing and confessing he is. (Hebrews 11:6) Understand He is faithful and true.  Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. (1 Thessalonians 5:24)

1 Corinthians 2:5 - That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Isaiah 53:5

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Do you believe He really took stripes for your healing? What were the stripes He took? Did He take them so we could shrug and say ya, I see that but… I am still a winner if I die sick. Was this done in vain? Let it not be so in your mind.

Surround yourself with family and friends who will bring the presence of God around you, lowering you down thru the ceiling by creating an atmosphere of a fervent righteous man’s prayers. Who holds your hands up like Moses’ friends did for him when he was weary from the battle (Exodus 17:11-12). It isn’t our friend’s faith we need for healing it’s our friends faith to build our faith so we can believe. Create an atmosphere that draws the presence of God near, that’s when we see God work. Matthew 18:20  For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Surround yourself with faith builders.

When we come to the knowledge of the truth it sets different then thinking we know and believe, seeing God change lives, changes your mindset. You see it. You expect it, all things are possible with God if we can believe.

The struggle is real. Have you seen God move in your life like only He can? Feel free to share with me your faith building story.
